I am a Collaboration Researcher at GE Global Research. I'm part of the Software Center of Excellence where GE is pioneering the Industrial Internet. Some research areas I'm working on at GE are mobile collaboration, expert recommendation, wearables in healthcare, and human-machine collaboration. Some of my work was covered in this news article and this blog post.
Before joining GE, I was an NSF Computing Innovation Fellow at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) where I studied social computing and social search.
I received my Ph.D. from the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University. My Ph.D. dissertation examined collaborative information seeking and sensemaking in two domains - healthcare and Web search.
My research interests broadly lie in the fields of human-computer interaction (HCI), computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), social computing, collaborative and social Web search, and social mobile applications.
I completed my Bachelors in Computer Sciences and Engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology in India.
In my spare time I love to cook and explore the outdoors.
10/2014 I will be serving on the ICWSM 2015 program committee.
